This six-week Introduction to Counselling programme is designed for individuals who desire to develop foundational counselling and helping skills in a structured, ethical, and practical way.
Participants will be introduced to the core principles of counselling, including empathy, active listening, ethical boundaries, emotional awareness, and referral skills. The programme places strong emphasis on self-awareness, professionalism, and culturally sensitive practice, with real-life examples relevant to Trinidad and Tobago.
This training does not qualify participants as professional counsellors. Instead, it equips them with entry-level helping skills suitable for community work, schools, churches, NGOs, HR settings, and paraprofessional roles.
